Inverge Amazon Integration Functionality Guide
Selling Partner and Vendor user guide for Amazon connected services
This guide explains what the Inverge Amazon integration does, how Selling Partners authorize and use it, and how the delivered functions correspond to Inverge's advertised multichannel, inventory, order, fulfillment, and reporting capabilities. Feature availability may vary by subscription and customer configuration.
1 Purpose and audience
This guide is for an Amazon Selling Partner or Vendor that connects an authorized Amazon account to Inverge. It describes the standard operating workflow and the Amazon information used by each function. Inverge acts as a service provider to the customer and processes Amazon information only to provide customer-directed commerce operations.
2 What the integration provides
| Advertised capability | Amazon integration function | Customer outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Sales channel integration | Connects the customer's Amazon account through Amazon's authorization process and associates the Amazon store with the correct Inverge tenant. | The customer manages its authorized Amazon channel from Inverge. |
| Catalog and product management | Publishes or synchronizes eligible product and listing data when the feature is enabled for the connected store. | Product information can be maintained across enabled channels from a common workflow. |
| Inventory synchronization | Sends customer-directed inventory availability updates to Amazon and records synchronization status. | Available quantities remain aligned with the customer's inventory records. |
| Order and return management | Retrieves the customer's Amazon orders and presents them only to authorized users in that tenant for fulfillment, cancellation, and return workflows. | Authorized users can process marketplace orders within the same operational system. |
| Fulfillment and shipping | Uses the minimum recipient and delivery information necessary to route orders, obtain rates, create labels, and return shipment confirmation and tracking information. | Orders can be fulfilled and shipment status can be returned to Amazon. |
| Accounting and reporting | Uses order and financial settlement information to support reconciliation, operational reporting, and return accounting. | The customer can reconcile Amazon activity and review channel performance. |
3 Connect an Amazon account
- An authorized customer administrator selects the Amazon sales channel integration in Inverge.
- The administrator completes Amazon's authorization flow using an account they are permitted to connect.
- Inverge stores the authorization identifiers and associates the Amazon store with the customer's isolated tenant.
- The administrator selects the enabled workflows, such as catalog, inventory, orders, fulfillment, or reporting, based on the subscribed and configured services.
- Inverge begins synchronization and records operational status for the connected store.
The customer must not connect an Amazon account it does not own or have authority to administer. Credentials and authorization tokens must not be shared between customer users.
4 Order and fulfillment workflow
- Inverge retrieves orders belonging to the connected Amazon store.
- The order is associated with the customer's Inverge tenant and is visible only to that tenant's authorized users.
- Authorized customer personnel review and fulfill the order. Inverge personnel do not perform routine order processing or customer support on the customer's behalf.
- When the customer requests a carrier rate or label, only the data needed for that shipment is sent through an authenticated encrypted API to the selected provider, such as FedEx, UPS, or Endicia.
- Inverge returns the customer-directed shipment confirmation and tracking details to Amazon.
- Amazon buyer PII is removed or redacted according to the retention rules described in the Amazon SP API Privacy Notice.
5 Information used by function
| Function | Information used | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Store connection | Amazon store and authorization identifiers | Authenticate the connection and route data to the correct tenant. |
| Catalog and inventory | SKU, product, listing, price, and quantity data | Publish or synchronize customer-directed commerce data. |
| Order management | Order identifiers, status, line items, amounts, and required buyer or recipient details | Display and process the customer's Amazon orders. |
| Shipping | Recipient name, delivery address, phone when required, package and service details | Rate, route, label, fulfill, and track the shipment. |
| Returns and reporting | Order, return, fee, settlement, and financial details | Process returns and support reconciliation and reporting. |
6 Access and tenant boundaries
- Tenant isolation is implemented and tested so one customer cannot access another customer's Amazon information.
- Customer access is limited to authorized users and roles with a business need.
- Administrative access is restricted, logged, and protected by multi-factor authentication.
- Amazon information is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest in managed cloud storage.
- Inverge does not use Amazon information for advertising, sell it, or expose it to unrelated customers.
7 Customer controls and responsibilities
- Keep the connected Amazon account and Inverge users current and promptly remove access that is no longer required.
- Use Amazon information only for legitimate order, fulfillment, support, return, accounting, and reporting purposes permitted by Amazon.
- Do not export, disclose, or use buyer PII for marketing or any unrelated purpose.
- Report suspected unauthorized access or data exposure to support@invergehq.com without delay.
- Submit data deletion or support requests through the published Inverge contact channels.
